Hello

I'm 22 years old, generall healthy andI have a quick question.

Ive had a mild sore throat for the past day or two, nothing out of the ordinary (my throat gets sore quite a bit). It's not sore when I wake up, but it gets worse as the day goes on. Also, when I wake up, I have a horrible taste in my mouth (just just typical morning breath).

I was just inspecting my mouth, seeing if there was anything serious going on, and I noticed that the roof of my mouth is all white and yellow. I also noticed that I'm getting brown freckle like spots on my cheeks. I'm not sure if this is serious, or just symptoms that I normally get and have never noticed. This couldn't be oral cancer or anything serious could it? I'm going to my dentist in a few weeks, but I can't wait until then to know. Can anyone help me?

Also, when I type in my symptoms oral thrush seems to be comming up, but from the pictures I see, it looks NOTHING like what I have in my mouth. It's not bleeding and there are no lumps or raised peices, it's just a flat coating on the roof of my mouth. I have pictures, but there doesn't seem to be a way for me to attach them here. I would be happy to if there is a way.

Thanks so much!

Thanks Smile

Hi, 6babydee6!

I know you said you have a dentist appointment in a few weeks, but was that appointment made specifically for these symptoms or is it just a general cleaning?

To my knowledge, if you let the office know that something is wrong, they'll get you in ASAP to take a look (as opposed to a general cleaning which you sometimes have to wait weeks or even months for). I definitely think you should give them a call and tell them exactly what you've said, here; spell out your symptoms for them and see if they have an answer or can get you in within the next day or two to be seen for it.

I know it's been about a week since you posted this... have you found out anything since?

Good luck and keep us posted!
