Hello,
I live in China, and found a blank spot in the vision of my left eye. After multiple doctors, english speaking and chinese, looked, x-rayed, and ran other test, they concluded that I have optic neuritis. I mentioned the connection with MS to the english speaking doctor and she asked about my family history and scoffed at me when I said there's no history of MS in my family.
Eight months later the spot is still in my vision (from what I've read on the internet, I understand it may never go away), and now I have a spiraling white/blue spot every now and then- no rhyme or reason that I can see when it happens.
I am just wondering if the doctor was right to tell me not to worry about MS, every other time I read about optic neuritis on the internet, it seems like the people at least have a MRI done to check for other possible demyelination sites.
Thanks,
aaltmanshofer

Get a second opinion, like from a neurologist...maybe one who specializes in MS.

Best Wishes,
