Hi folks,

Suffered with ON over last two months and then have just had MRI ( Brain and CS Spine) done on recommendation of Neuro. He says it showed two demylining spots in upper tent of brain and one in my "balance apparatus" ( Cerebellum?)

Total of three not enough ( he says five plus would be needed) but he says the ON plus Sciatica I had about four years ago could be significant. I'm not in bad shape with the ON improved now so he says just to get on with things in the meantime ( until something gives I suppose!)

This is the limbo everyone talks about I guess.

I know that the scene is now set - if further clinical evidence emerges then MS might be DXd or if a future MRI showed further spots.

Its a weird feeling. Anyone similar stage?

Optic neuritis plus detection of demyelinisating plagues in the brain on MRI-scan is very significant for multiple sclerosis. Sciatica could be due to MS but it might be also due to some degenerative spine disorder (spondylosis). You may need further diagnostic procedures to prove MS.
Have you ever done lumbar X-ray scan, lumbar puncture and evoked potentials test?
