ongoing stomachache and loose stool Posted: 06-07-08 01:05am
I was shot years ago and it tore my
stomach up; blew my galbladder to pieces,
in and out of my kidney and my stomach a
few times. Few weeks ago I woke up and
basically stayed in the bathroom all day
long. I am in Iraq right now and thought I
got some bad water. It went away for about
a week...and now its on and off...stool
isnt plain water anymore...but I go in the
morning, right after lunch, before dinner
and after dinner. Sometimes right after a
solid movement I will have a loose one.
Someone told me it could be stress, I just
got a nice promotion and will going into
Baghdad pretty soon. This started before
the new job...my first thought was my
stomach came loose or the stiching came
undone. It seems like I have stomach aches
before I eat...if I eat they go right away
with no problem. I am 23, a bit
overweight...and once again...in
Iraq...could it be just bad water for this
long....no one else on the whole camp has
this at all.

This is for JayinGreenZone (Iraq),
Jay I believe you are suffering from a
parasite found in the water called,
Giardia. I had it and contracted it in
Italy after having ice with my cokes at
restaurants. You need to get to a Doctor
and you may have to submit stool samples
for evaluation. I had to and it came back
positive in all three tests for Giardia.
Then I was prescribed Metronidazole
(Flagyl) for a week to rid it.
I sure hope this gets to you and it's
whats causing your problems.
