Q: one swollen tonsil

Recently while at the dentist they asked me if any one had ever told me that one of my tonsils was larger than the other. They said it didn't look discolored no white spots or bumps and they didn't refer me to an ent. I had chewed tobacco on and off for about ten years. I have never had mouth sores and don't really have any other symptoms of any thing other than I can now feel (i think) the swollen tonsil in my throat when I swallow. I have felt really good other than maybe some allergies. Any ideas? Should I be going to an ent? Should I be worried?

You are probably just feeling it because the dentist pointed it out. If it were cancer, you would have sores, pain (especially when you eat citrus), swelling in your neck, along with other things. Do a little research and see that you don't have these symptoms. Chewing tobacco for so long puts you at some risk (you did quit, though, right?), so you should keep an eye on things.

I would suggest bringing it up the next time you see your doctor (you get regular physicals, right?). If you are really worried, it wouldn't hurt to go in earlier.
