Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Emergency contraceptive pills (ECP) contain high doses of hormones. If these are taken closer to your period time, these can disrupt the normal hormonal pattern and cause bleeding and hormonal abnormalities. If taken within 48 hours of unprotected intercourse, it helps in preventing pregnancy. Wait and watch for your next periods. Look out for development of any other new symptoms suggestive of early pregnancy. Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation and tests if periods do not start within 10 days from expected period dates.
Take care.
