I've been taking the nuvaring for over a year. Before that I was on the patch for over six months but I did not like it( a lot of body shaking once a put it on). I loved the nuvaring. I never had any side effects. But just this month I missed my period. I been following the rules exactly. I called my doctor and she said to take a pregnancy test. I took the pregnancy test and it came back negative. My doctor said that if it comes back negative to start the ring on the day I would have started it. I am just concerned that I still may be pregnant and if so that the inserted ring will harm the baby. Like I said that I've been on the ring for over a year and never had this problem. What should I do? Confused

the nuvaring wont harm the baby if you are pregnant - i fell pregnant on the pill...my doctor said there would be no side effects...

but i say follow your isntinct, maybe leave it out and let your body get back to normal (use condoms as contraception in the meantime). once you get your regular period then insert a new one...i too am having issues at the moment, with nuvaring.
