on fish oil several years is it the reason for thin blood.

I recently had a BCC cut out of my forehead and the doctor found it difficult to put the sutures in because it wouldn't stop bleeding. He was amazed at how thin my blood is.
I have taken fish oil for several years and he wondered if this couldbe the reason.
I am now off the fish oil for 3 weeks and will then have a blood test.
Could this be the reason for thin blood. What else could be the cause.
