Hello, I am 25 yrs old and I have had an off and on bleeding disorder. My first period ever was 15 days long and my second one was 50 days long... I also once bled for 9 straight months. I have seen different doctors for it, but none of their remedies ever really permanently cured me. I have been bleeding for over a month now and last yr I noticed whenever I consumed lactose containing foods, I would start bleeding a few minutes after. Well, I figured I'm lactose intolerant and I've since then taken over the counter medication for that, but lately I have been slacking off because I'm just too depressed to remember, but I started taking it again yesterday; hopefully this ridiculous bleeding stops in a couple of days... I fear for my life. I don't feel like a confident attractive woman because of this ongoing problem, it has screwed up my life. I'm praying for a reply, thank you.

Mickie, You are the only one that can help. If you know what helps but does not take it, nobody else can help you. Ask a friend to check up on you if you have to but make every effort to stay healthy.

You should also be taking an iron supplement to replace the iron you lose through your period. Iron is very important for carrying oxygen through your blood stream. Replenishing the iron will give you some energy back. But don't overdose on iron supplements!!

Why are you not on birth control pills to regulate your cycles?

When was the last time you saw your ObGyn?

I hope you are being treated for depression. Nobody can make you happy and confident but yourself. Self confidence comes from acceptance of yourself as a unique and valuable person.

Best of luck!
