Well, back in february I had sex with a
guy who's had a lot of partners. 2 or 3
days later, i was using the bathroom and
my urine smelled terrible. I started
getting bad cramps in my lower abdomen for
2 or 3 days; i went to the doctor they
took a urine sample and he said nothing
came back but gave me amoxicillin in the
case that it was probably a UTI, i took
the pills and the odor and cramps all went
away. I didn't finish the prescription
though, purely of disorganization. In
March, I got a Depo-Provera injection
(Birth control). After the injection I
started to notice I began getting really
horrible scents from my vagina... like
abnormal and excessive discharge. I tried
dealing with it for a few days... but that
didn't work. So I've been using tampons
and the odor doesn't come unless I take it
out, which means that the odor's coming
from my discharge. I have no burn or pain
when I pee, and I never did. There was no
itching of my vagina or pain during
intercourse... it's just this smell that
won't go away!!! I'm going to call my
OB/GYN but before I go, Is it more likely
that the odor is from my birth control and
the hormones going crazy? or a UTI? or an
STD?

You need to get tested for STDs! Using
tampons in this way is not safe. Tampons
are meant for short term use, not all the
time use. There is a risk of Toxic Shock
Syndrome (TSS). Make an appointment and
get yourself checked. It isn't going away
on its own.
FYI: UTI medication isn't always going to
fix an STD. You need different antibiotics
for those.
