Q: Odd Rash and Swelling

I developed an odd rash yesterday. It covers my entire body and itches very badly. Today I've been getting swelling in my hands as well, it's terribly debilitating as of right now.

I also have been having chest pains around my sternum, which started at the same time, though I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I'm rather limited on funds, should I go see a doctor soon, or should I just wait and see if it goes away? The rash over my face, the swelling, and the intching and pain are making it very hard to work.

Sounds as if you are having an allergic reaction to something. Are you having difficulty breathing? Do you have Benadryl handy?

It's up to you however if it was me, I would seek medical help right away and worry about funds later.

I've been using this hydrocortisone plus stuff my friend picked up. It worked the first time I applied it, now it does nothing.

I am quite literally poor, if I go to a doctor I'm going to actually have to get aid, which I'd rather not do. But I suppose I don't really have a choice at the moment.

As for my breathing, it's unaffected.

Good, your breathing has not been affected as of yet and lets hope it does not.

If you go to let's say a hospital and you have no insurance or money but they see that your situation is an emergency (may want to call them before hand and tell them what is happening to you...they may tell you to come on in)...regardless if it is a true emergency they can not turn you away...

My point is...they will bill you and once that is done you can always request that they adjust your account as a charity (they are allowed to do this) however they will need proof of your income, bills, etc and from there will decide if your account would be adjusted or maybe reduced or accept a payment plan that you both agree upon. If you go this route make sure that you keep notes on who you spoke to and all correspondence that you receive or send.

Best wishes,

~Zig

No problem, I do hope all turns out well for you and maybe you will find out what caused this and in the future stay away from the culprit(s).

Take care,
