Extremely eHealthy
Have you reported this side effect to your doctor? There may be a different medication you could take without this side effect. I do not know of any way to treat the oculagyric
movement.

I have that too
Hi

I'm not familiar with your medication and am having trouble finding information about it on the internet. It looks like it is an atypical antipsychotic, and most of the info I see if from studies in Great Britain.

I take Geodon and I think I have the same thing you are talking about. We call it staring. My eyes lock in an upward gaze and I can't look straight ahead. It is unsafe because I have a baby.

My psychiatrist prescribed Cogentin which is an anticholergenic. It is supposed to help relieve the problem, but I'm supposed to take it every day. I'm now pregnant again, and trying not to take the cogentin because it is category C (as is geodon), but I've already gone through a successful pregnancy on the geodon with a healthy baby (I think, so far). Now that I'm pregnant again I don't want to take the cogentin, but he says that the staring is a serious concern and that I have to, or stop taking the geodon. Which definitely isn't a good idea.

He also said I could try benadryl and see if that helps with the staring, but I have to take it every day.

You might want to ask your md about cogentin or benadryl if you aren't already taking them. Otherwise she/he might want to lower your dose of amilsulphide or try a different med. The oculogyric side effect is not safe, my doc thinks.
