nuvaring stored above recommended temperature Posted: 07-04-08 17:37pm
i am carrying 4 months of nuvaring with me
while i travel this summer, and i am
pretty sure that the bag the medication is
in has been exposed to temperatures above
the recommended 86 degrees. what does
this mean in terms of my protection
against pregnancy? are they all going to
be ineffective now? does it matter how
long they were above temp? if so, what
are the guidelines? please advise!!!
Period duration while exposed on
temperatures higher than recommended is
probably important but there are no
guidelines. If you want to be 100% sure
you can bye another Nuvaring.

I would try calling the number on the box
if there is one and asking the support
line about the facts involving this. I'm
not sure if there are any studies out
there on it, but if anyone would know, it
would be the manufacturers. I agree with
Dr. Nikola, if you want to be 100%
protected I would buy a new ring just in
case.
