Hey ladies, I switched to Nuvaring from BC
pills because I heard that they had less
of a hormonal effect when compared to BC
pills. Made sense.
In inserting the ring I began feeling side
effects within the hour! Headache, nausea,
mood swings. I found myself quite
irritable and bitter only a day in! I
figured it's normal to feel the hormonal
changes and my body should adjust soon.
It's been 5 days, I've had low energy
levels, headaches, nausea, and find myself
depressed and considering breaking up with
my boyfriend. There is nothing wrong with
my boyfriend!
Needless to say I decided to remove the
ring before a week was even up, and in two
hours the majority of my 'side effects'
have vanished! All of a sudden my
boyfriend doesn't seem so bad lol.
So I guess I'd just like to share my story
with anyone else who is easily prone or
sensitive to hormonal changes that
Nuvaring may not be the best choice. I've
concluded through my personal experience
that hormonal BC just isn't for this
girl.
I never even tried having intercourse with
the ring in, personally wasn't too sure
how well that would go over...you can only
fit in so many objects at once
Cheers girls!

I think this will do much better under the
woman's health forum. Even though you do
have some depression, it is not getting
any answers. So, let's try it somewhere
else.

I just removed my Nuva ring about 20 mins
ago. I only had it in for about 2.5 weeks.
Right from the get go I started having all
kinds of symptoms... The two worst ones
were moodiness/crabbiness and the change
in my discharge. It litearlly seemed like
the pH was way off... it seemed very
acidic and would leave my vaginal area
very sore. It was also affecting my sleep
severely... from about day 4 of having it
in, I haven't had a full 8 hrs of sleep
since... I can't... No matter how hard i
try. I'm going to see how it goes with out
it... and see if all these symptoms
disappear shortly.
