I started using the Nuvaring last week. As of 6pm last night, it had been in for 6 days. Unfortunately, the condom broke while my SO and I were having sex last night. Although I know the Nuvaring information packet says that the ring will begin to protect the user from pregnancy after 7 days of continuous use (and therefore I was technically not protected last night), I'm very hesitant to get emergency contraception today. I've used EC many many times before, and I hate the idea of spending $25 to completely mess up my cycle if my chances of getting pregnant right now are low to non-existent.

Can anyone tell me, realistically, what my chances are of being able to get pregnant three days after the end of my period and less than 24 hours shy of pregnancy protection from the ring?

If I do decide to take Plan B today in conjunction with the Nuvaring, are there any possible medical complications I should be aware of? How would using both types of contraception at the same time effect my cycle?
