I am a 53 yr. old female that has been experiencing numbness in both hands and arms, while sleeping. It is VERY strong numbness especially in my Left arm and fingers. This has been happening the last 3 nights. The last time I got up and moved my hands around but it wouldn't go away. I took a couple of Advils and it finally went away after aprox. and hour. I also get a slight feeling like Vertigo was going to start again. I had a bad case of Vertigo last year for about a week, so I am afraid that it will happen again.
I have been on Prozac for aprox 1 month for Hot flashes and night sweats. It has helped some but, I am still having them. I have been having joint pain, especially in my knees. I had bad swelling in my Left knee aprox 2 weeks ago. (no injury) An Xray was taken but nothing was seen. Swelling is almost gone, but the pain comes and goes.
I also have had a history of chronic coughing. (both dry and with mucous) I've had this for aprox. 4 years. The Dr said that it is probably Asthma and Allergies. I've had a chest xray about 2 years ago. They said that there was a tiny spot, but no need for concern. I've tried a multiple perscribed meds and inhalers, but nothing works.
Anyway I have learned to live with this.
My main concern is the hand and arm numbness.
I only mentioned the rest in case it was all related.
Am I just getting old and falling apart? (LOL)
Any input would be much appreciated.
