Hi, I'm 20 years old and was diagonised with Mono 3 days ago, but was told I've had it for about a week and a half. I've had blood tests, along with X-rays and CT scans on my chest, but nothing on the head. I've had all the normal symptoms until I woke up today. When I woke up I noticed something different about my face and neck. My right eye feels weird. Not really numb and not really painful, kinda in the middle. It's very hard to explain. I also have some blurred vision in that eye too along with my eye feeling droopy, but my eye looks normal. My cheek on the right side also feels the same way, although it does feel like my lymph nodes are swollen on the right and not the left (is that possible?). What I'm worrying most about is the pain/numbness/slight pressure on the back of my head, right behind my ear, at the bottom of my skull, but not below it. It hasn't felt like this before today and I'm always worried about my health anyways. I'm so sick of being scared 24/7 and this just makes it worse. It's now 12 hours later and it feels the exact same, no worse, no better. Someone please help me with some advice or something. Please please please. Ask more questions if needed, I will check this all the time.

I don't know if this will help you, but my husband was just diagnosed with mono 3 days ago... he is older than you (41) and they say in "adult cases" there are more aggressive symptoms, one of which is severe head pain... sometimes it radiates with sharp pains all over, sometimes it just focuses on the temples... they did a cat scan and it was clear. When we were at the hospital a few days ago (finally got a diagnosis) they actually gave him morphine to ease his pain it was so bad. I would definitely speak with your doctor about it, and soon... they can't give you meds to heal you any quicker, but they can give you something for the pain. Good luck and keep in touch with your doctor.
