Hi I was diagnosed May 11, 2008, I was 35 at the time. I started taking Avonex July 14, 2008 and was very fortunate not to have side effects except 4 or 5 times, which were chills. I take tylenol before each injection. About 2 months ago I started getting numb around my mid back on my left side and it kept spreading around to the front and down my leg and now in my toes. Basically numb left side! Has anyone encountered any of this and will it go away eventually? It is getting harder to even run around the bases on my baseball team. My left leg feels like there is cement in it!! lol Any helpful information? Thanks

When these attacks happen we never know how long they will last.

Sometimes steroid treatments might help speed recovery time.

Personally I ride out the attack and try to avoid the steroid route.
