Since May 16th I went to the ER for a boil that burst on my leg that left a .5 cm hole. The ER doc. gave me a tetnus shot, an antibiotic(bactrum) and valium. Woke up later that night after being asleep for an hour with a racing heart and very nervous. Called the 24 hour pharmacy and she said those meds shouldn't have caused those symptoms. After getting off phone notice my left arm was numb. Finally was able to go back to sleep. The next day my left arm and left hand were so numb that it felt cold to the touch. I went to ER again to rule out stroke. They did CT Scan, blood work and EKG. All were fine. The next day while lying on the couch I notice my leg and foot were numb. (all of this numbness is on the left side). Went to my regular doctor who told me I was probably sleeping wrong. Numbness went away in about two weeks. Doctor also ran test for B12, G6, Lupus, RA...all were neg. She ran those test because I was now having joint pain in my shins, ankles and wrist on left side. Numbness and joint pain would not be present at same time.Experience burning sensation in my left leg, under my breast bone, and left arm a few times. She gave me neurontin which I think has helped tremedously. Now I for past few weeks somedays I have no symptoms of nothing and feel like my normal self and others I have that pain in my shins which now goes over to my right leg at times. The shin pain the left wrist pain happen at the same time. Finally I got my Dr. to refer me to a neurologist (July 15th is appt), however wanted to see if anyone else experienced this. I am a 34 yr old female, 5'9 about 225 lbs. Other health issue was high cholestorol that has been maintained and good with a Statin drug. So my question again is has anyone else experienced this and what were your findings?
