Hi All

I have always been healthy but since 2007 i have had ongoing issues of a neurological back ground and they are still trying to work out if it is neuro based or autoimmune.

But this other issue i have is separate i feel maybe i'd like your advise on that?

I have a numb patch on my hip/buttock it started off as small as my thumb now and now its as big as a dinner plate and growing, i cant feel touch or pressure on it and its been that way for 2 mths now. I started hydrotherapy recently and each time i do it i get hypersensitive skin around the numb patch and nerve a pain down my left leg which even my morphine patch wont help, i did not have any back pain except my back being stiff in the lower region i had hydro yesterday and we too it very easy due to the reaction last time but i bent over this morning to straighten my bed sheets and my lower back went and i cant walk or straighten up this has happened 3 times before in my working life as a carer but not since i have stopped working in may 2007 due to my other health issues.

Do you think the numbness is connected with my back? my physio who does the hydro with me says the numb area would be to do with L1, i did have a mri back in 2007 and had a bulging disk at L4/5 and S1 and C2 but the neuro said everybody has bulging disks and they are not a problem i guess a bulging disk is different from a herniated one and my physio said even if these disk had herniated i would be feeling numbness in different area like my left foot so i am confused as what is going on should i call my GP or do you think its nothing to be worried about??

Honey Get a second opinion..I fired my first neuro. mostly because he was a jerk and tried to make me feel like neuro pain was not that big of a deal..I had my 2nd opinion set up within a week and after gobs of lab work that the first one never even thought about doing I learned of vitamin deficincies I had and my ANA was way up as well as other labs elevated higher than ever..

I don't know why some docs play off herniated discs or disc disease, neuro pain or any other medical issues..They wouldn't if they hurt the way we do..Sometimes it's because they are over worked--sometimes I think it's because they just don't know and instead of refereing you to another don't want to show their lack of desire to search or lack of knowledge period..

Don't take this standing still..Fight to get answers.. I know my numbness is from my disc with nerve impingments in a couple areas..I learned this by fighting for answers..

Guess I'm in a fighting mood this morning..I am hurting like crazy with the up and down temperatures and in no mood for doctors who show little empathy..

Hi

Trying to move around as not to stiffen up but walking with a walking frame much to my girls amuzement have not needed that since last summer! but cant straighten up, made it out togarden as its nice out here on my lounger but my hip and thigh is painfull with nerve type pain. very down and frustrated as cant do a thing!! i am at least used to pottering around in the house not confined comletly to one spot!! so bored, off to GP tomorrow my husband whom are separated from said he will take me as i cant drive i was going for the numb patch and more bloods to see if anything comes up been 2 yrs since last lot but will be focusing on my back i think!! i could take diazapam but i have a feeling i might have MG and taking this always brings on sx of that so trying not to take it. The fatiuge is getting to me too i sleep all day if i can and still sleep at night not good!! how r u great we got the sun for abit longer its ment to rain but it has not here in the uk so pleased about that as it helps my muscles so much but i did read if you have lupus or susspect you have lupus you should stay out of the sun at all times!! i do get alot of sun sensitivty but i feel the odd rash and fatiuge is worth the relief i get from the warmth on my joints what do you think??are you still recovering from your bladder surgery? what work do you do? is your husband supportive of you?
