If it hurts that much, you need to go to the doctor. You should be more afraid not to go. The wound can get infected and that infection can spread to the whole finger and even to your hand or worse. Just go see your doctor and get it looked at. You probably just need antibiotics or something like that. If you let it go, you may have to have surgery. Seriously. Get it looked at.

Hi Youndmother22,

The knuckle is the bone, and is a rather sensitive place to have trauma, it will take longner to heal as opposed to having a flesh wound. Did you get perscribed pain medicine? Are you taking it? You should be getting some relief from the pain by now, however, you will experience some sensitivity due to the location of the trauma. If it is preventing you from doing your daily activities, please have it checked out by a doctor again.

Good Luck,

FadedRose
