I'm 60 yr-old woman recently diagnosed...going for first chemo treatment this Friday -- cocktail is avastin, paclitaxel and carboplatin.

Just general statistics...what's the normal survival rate for 80% of those diagnosed?

Although, chemotherapy has no curable potential, still offers the possibility of temporary disease control, an improvement in quality of life, and a modest increase in survival.

I found some statistic about survival rates in patients with NSCLC, stage 4:
19 % live for one year, 6% two years, 2% three years, 2% four years, 1% five years
