I was married for 12 years and had 2 healthy pregnancies. I had a NovaSure done 2 1/2 years ago and have now remarried and considering getting pregnant. When I contacted my OB/Gyn she said that she would not recommend having another baby due to complications. I have not been on any birth control since my procedure 2.5 years ago… can I become pregnant and carry a healthy baby? My Ob/Gyn has no percentages on this and I really want to know what my chances are.

blood test done 06/13/10 - Results pending

Thank you!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I am really glad to help you out. It is important to know that, although the chances for pregnancy are reduced following an endometrial ablation procedure, it is still possible to become pregnant. It is extremely difficult to tell the exact percentage chance of getting pregnant as it varies a lot from patient to patient.

However, pregnancy following endometrial ablation is very risky for both the mother and the fetus. You should not have an endometrial ablation if you think you might want to have a baby in the future. After an endometrial ablation, you should use some form of birth control. Please discuss this with your gynecologist. Hence, I agree with what your doctor has already told. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
