Novasure Procedure
I just had the procedure done on 7/31/08. I had it done in the office. The doctor gave me two prescriptions for the anxiety and I took it in the office. When I was called back for the procedure I didn't feel the medications having any effect on me. The procedure did only take 90 seconds as promised but if I was to do it again I would be put under. I can not recall being under such intense pain. Thank god the nurse did do a count down so I knew exactly how much longer I needed to get through.

Since then I have had a small amount of discharge and still cramping from time to time. I will have to wait awhile to see if it has helped me since I was menstrating when the procedure took place.

Two weeks has passed. Was it as bad as you thought? I had an ablation 1 1/2 years ago...turned out perfectly. Hope yours did as well.

2 weeks past....
I am still having discharge and am on antibotics following my 2 week check up at the doctor. I am also feeling I will never see a pad free pantie again..lol I am really anxious about how my periods will be now that I have had the ablation done. I still think the pain was very intense (I have a very high pain tolerance) and I should have had it done in the hospital.

Countdown until my period has begun...

How soon I forget. I did spot (very, very, little) for about 6 months right around the time I was due to start but nothing compared to the excessiveness of what I would experience prior to the ablation. I was told that this is normal and after that time I have had no breakthrough but sometimes I will have the tell-tell cramps, cravings, sore boobs, etc but no period.

He said in some women their period will cease right away and others may take a few months to work.

novasure
I had novasure done about 4 months ago. It has been great. I too had alot of anxiety about being put under. Never had before. But, the anesthesia took effect SO quick. like a second. woke up, went home, took a nap. So anesthesia was no big deal for a big scaredy cat like me! Hardly any pain afterwards. Did have discharge as expected for a while. 1st "period" lasted maybe 5 minutes. Haven't had any bleeding since. It was wonderful. Kind of weird, but wonderful not having periods!

I am scheduled to have this procedure, Aug.14th, and I am considering cancelling due to the research I have found in regard to this procedure. It should be done in a hospital setting, and complications that are I am concerned with is dryness, unable to orgasm, and uterine rupture. If you have any confusion about this procedure, do not do it!

Novasure procedure
I had the procedure done about a year ago and it was the best thing I ever did. It was done at the hospital and I was put to sleep but everything turned out when I was done. I will say for the first couple of months after I had it done I still bled alot during my period but now I only get my period for 2 days and it is so light. I totally recommend it.

novasure ablation
I just had the procedure done last week. The easiest thing I've ever done. I have 2 fibroids, but they are in the muscle not the lining so didn't effect the procedure. I had general anesthesia, woke up right away, and left within an hour after procedure. Small amount of cramping at home, but was given percocet for it and only needed 2 all day. Had a watery discharge for about 4 days and now I'm fine. I will know how effective it is in a few weeks.

This month I got my period twice in one month. I had the ablation a year ago. Things were really good for the last couple of months until now. Has anyone else experienced this?

Novasure Ablation
I had Novasure ablation a year ago this October. It has been wonderful since then!
I had regular but very heavy periods lasting a full week before, with at least three days of clotting. It has been the best year! My PMS is hardly noticeable, cramping and sore breasts are far less than half, and I have a short light period of about 4 days with more spotting than actual bleeding. NO problem reaching orgasm, no dryness, all perfect!!
Hope this helps!

Best decision, I have my life back!.
I am 43. I had the Novasure in March 2009. I had it in a hospital as an out-patient. Definately the best thing I have done! My periods were to the point that I wouldn't sleep at night because the bleeding was so heavy. I needed a separate bag for my "pads & pons" only for being away from home for the day. It definately controlled my life. It has been six months since the procedure. The first 4 months my cycles were weird, definately a fraction of the bleeding, still slight cramps & achy breasts. Now this my 7th month no period yet....had all the pre-menstral feelings but no bleeding! I can only hope I didn't mis-count....so far so good. Here's to panti-liner periods, YAY!!!

Hi,
I am having this procedure done in December. I am wondering if how long after the procedure you went back to work, were able to have any marital relations and if you have gone into menapause as a result of the procedure ?

Thank you

So glad to hear your story. Can you tell me now if you have a normal sex life after the procedure and if there is any pain ? Also I would like to know how long after the procedure you waited. Thank you for any reply ! I am having it done 12/2009.

I had a novasure ablation on Thursday November 6, 2009 in the doctors office. I was instructed to take 600mg of Motrin every 6 hours for 48 hours prior to surgery. Additionally, I was prescribed a valium, vicodin and zofram that I took one hour prior to surgery. My surgery was a breeze. I was injected with a pain killer in my butt and another vaginally. The entire procedure was 90 seconds. During this time the nurse held my hand and told me she was holding on harder than I was. The doctor asked me to rate the pain of the surgery on a scale of 1-10. Honestly, I pushed it by rating it a 2. I experienced severe cramping for two hours when I returned home. The vicodin did not begin to ease the pain however, the cramps subsided in two hours ( I used a heating pad) and some good old fashioned breathing techniques. Today is day 2 and other than some light bleeding I feel great. I will keep you posted!!!
