Have you had the Nova Sure? I'm scheduled to have it Deceber 23rd. Do you recommend it? Was there alot of pain? I have seen very few people who were satisfied but of course -- if they're satisfied they usually don't reach out for others who are satisfied.

Just looking for more information please. Thank you.

I had the Novasure procedure done September, 2010. I had HEAVY periods- so heavy I have had to have three iron infusions!

I thought I was one who could handle pain but the gyn only gave me a local in the opening of the uterus. Then about 10-15 minutes later, she came in and started using different sized dialiators and opened my cervix. I had some cramping which was normal. When it came to the actual procedure, it took 90 seconds. Those were the worst 90 seconds of my life. I felt everything. Everyone in the office kept telling me I was doing 'great'. I was so shaken by the whole experience. I HIGHLY recommend having the procedure done in the hospital under anesthesia. I wasn't given a choice.

I bled the entire month. At times, it smelled like something rotting. The smell bothered me so bad that I went back to the office to make sure I didn't have an infection. Nope. Just part of the process. I was basically told it is like a mini microwave oven inside your uterus cooking the inside of the uterus.

I haven't had a period after that first month. I feel like I would have some bleeding but I don't have anything.. I still have the PMS although I have been told of women who claim this got rid of their PMS.

All I can say is that every woman is different. I would recommend the procedure but under anesthesia in a hospital setting. Yea, I know "it is only 90 seconds" but I had NO IDEA it would hurt that bad- I thought the local would help. Nope. Gyn told me that is just used to help dilate the cervix. I had severe cramping afterward and was given some strong narcotics but it just took the edge off..

I have had two c-sections.

Hope this helps.

I hope I get rid of the PMS. You're the first person to say anything about the smell. I imagine it probably would have an odor.

I know my doctor just had it done herself and I visit with her next Friday when I go in for my endometrial biopsy.

She only does it under anesthesia as an outpatient. Can you tell me - would you have it done again if you could go back and do anesthesia in a hospital? Thank you for your reply.
