Has anyone had a problem with the person or people they care for who will not take their medication? Or have you ever had a patient or family member who moves their pills around in the pill box?

If so how do you get them to take their med's?

ive worked with those that wont take their pills--at work all is locked up so they dont have access to it---to get them to take their meds usually you can sweet talk them into it or ask if they want to get sick--answer is usually no---and you could say--well if you want to stay healthy we have to take our pills. if they wont take them ther is nothing you can really do except wait a few minutes and try again.

My Mom is visually impaired. Her problem was that she thought she was taking her medications but she wasn't. My brother and I had to convince her to get help. She didn't realize she was missing as many pills as she was. We basically had to gang up on her. She didn't believe me or my brother so we had to get her sister to help. We eventually talked her into getting home care to come in and give her medications to her every morning, and leave her evening meds out for her.

This is my grandma..we have help going in but I think we need more help to reminder her to take her med's. I know they sell pill box dispensers that lock and alert you when it's time to take the med's.
This might be the next step. I'm still waiting to hear from her nurse as to what they would recommend.
I can call grnadma, tell her what to take but she doesn't, she moves them around and thinks we will not notice what she's done.
Aging is so difficult..Sad
