I have not had any Hypo's although while taking my Insulin i had a few. Could positive thinking be the answer?

How are your blood sugars doing? Are they going high? Are you type 1 or 2?

Ideally you should speak to your doctor before stopping any medication.

I am type 2, my blood sugars vary depending on the time of day and of course what i have eaten. Usually they are around 9.2 but even when i was taking my insulin i could never get them low but i feel good and the weight loss feels great.
I am now living in Egypt so seeing a doctor is not as easy as in uk.

Nope...I have no idea how the health system works in Egypt....

I would have thought you'd need your blood sugar to be a little lower than 9.2. Below 7.8 two hours after a meal would be much better.

I know healthy diet would go a long way, even if you were using insulin. If you eliminate simple sugar and processed rubbish (and eat complex carbs in reasonable amounts), then of course you'll feel much better and be heading in the right direction.

I assume you have a blood machine still? Check your fasting sugar. If your fasting sugar is 9.2 then you may still need a little insulin for the time being.

I agree. It's not how high your blood sugar is but how much it swings between high and low. Are you testing 2 hours after meals, and what is your fasting blood sugar like. For diabetics it should be between 4 and 7. What was your last A1C like. Can you get that done there? You also have to watch for complications with Type 2. The longer you have diabetes, the more likely you will develope other problems. I have had Type 2 for over 15 years, I am not on medication because my blood sugars have never been considered high enough. I have been recently diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in my feet. I thought I had it under control but obviously I didn't. I don't mean to scare you, but VictoriaGB is right. Not a good idea to stop meds unless Dr. knows. Keep up the good work with diet and exercise though. That will definitely help.
