Q: Norwegian Names?

Hello!

My fiancé's family is VERY Norwegian (his Father was born in Norway and they still hold many Norwegian traditions and customs), so since we're having such a difficult time narrowing down our girl names, we decided that we'd like to find some Scandanavian girl names to honor his family.

My current favourite right now is Brynja Faye. Brynja is pronounced 'Brinn-ya' and means 'Shielding', and I love it because we could call her Bryn for short.

Any thoughts?

Brynja Faye is nice. I don't care much for the nickname Bryn, because Bryn is a boy's name, but I guess it's no different from using Sam or Alex as a nickname for a girl.
