i did alot of research to find out wahts been happening to me, and i found some articles on another medical site about nonepileptic seizures. they can be caused by a traumatic event, or series ofevents. The descriptions of the siezures sounds exactly what im haveing. it said that they can have the same symptoms as epileptic seizures and are easily misdiagnosed. I believe thats what ive been having and the only treatment to make it stop is counseling of some sort, and sorting through my emotions. it said theres no medication that will stop it, so should i just not go to the doctors or should i still go. ive been having them for over 2 weeks, and i even get them during school now in classes. its very embarassing. the attacks are not as often, but they are worse when they do happen, like i completely lost all control in my legs and fell to the floor the other day, and usually i am fine at school until i get home, but i got one at school. i told my dad about them, and we dont have health insurance, so unless its necessary i cant go to the doctors. is there any information that could be helpful in my dealing with this? any suggestions of ways to deal with emotional traumatic events so i dont get attacks? thank you.

I have had two non epileptic seizures since November. You have been given some incorrect advise - you need to be on anti-seizure medication. In Texas one cannot drive for six months after having a seizure - are you driving? I take Topamax and have found a doctor that has determined my seizures were brought on by an imbalance in my body chemistry which we are fixing through supplements. I too have some emotional things which may have contributed and also find that dropping barometric pressure causes severe headache recently - all very strange - best of luck.

I had a seizure disorder for almost 4 years. I have had all of the testing and scans there are. I have seen the top Epileptic doctors in the country. I took Topomax, and this did not work fore me. During a bout with the flu, I began to take vitamins water. I felt better and realized that I may have a deficiency.

See a nutritionist for any nutrient or vitamin deficiencies. If you have chronic diahrea, you may think nothing of it, as I did, and you may have an absorption issue as well as I did.

I am not a doctor, however the body has various neuro pathways that need a variety of vitmains and nutrients to function properly. You must be your OWN advocate! Doctors treat symptoms, and you must ask questions! Have your doctor check your Vitamin D levels. Have your physican check your B6 levels (before you take any additina)

Now with proper nutrition, sleep, vitamins B6 + D (see your physician) I have been seizure free for almost a year. You can get your life back. I actually have energy now to get more exercise and sleeping better than ever. I do take a mild anti anxiety medication daily with anti-seizure

I recommend to also see a counselor. I visted a counselor for a full year until I felt that the reason for my visits was in check. In my search for a cure, I was willing to do anything. I had several neurological issues. I even seen a hypnotist!
I visited a counselor during this year and I cannot say that it was not helpful. Best of luck to all.
