Q: Noises in ear after flying

When I was a kid I had tubes put in my ears because of constant ear infections. Well, I always had pain in my ears when flying but about a year ago, after a flight, I had more pain than ever and now loud noises are completely distorted in my left ear. It feels like the insides of my ear are just rattling around in there. I hear quiet noises just fine, its just loud noises. It also seems to come and go when I have a cold or sinus problems. Any suggestions?
