Q: nocturnal sleeping patterns

Alright, so here is my problem: During the summer when I am not in school about a week after school ends my sleeping pattern changes drastically. It does this every year around the same time too. I can't sleep until I see daylight. Ever. My body physically won't let me sleep. It doesn't matter how earlier I am woken up or if I am physically tired as well. I just can't sleep until there is a decent amount of light outside. That is usually between 6:30 -7:00 AM. Then I go to sleep and sleep until between 3-5 in the afternoon. I can even set my alarm clock to wake me up earlier and I won't even remember waking it up and turning it off. It happens all summer and then I go back to school and I go to sleep every night between 2-3 AM every night. Then I wake up at 6:30 AM. It's not healthy I know that much. But I am afraid to take sleeping pills because I am a teen and there is such a high risk of getting addicted to them and I don't want that. Has any one got a problem like this or know what this could be?

I have pretty much the same thing!
I have pretty much the same thing! Did you ever find out what it is? Did you take sleeping pills and did they work? (I have made a similar post about this just then and found this post. This is the first time I've come across anything close to what I have!).
Regards,
Jon

You could ask for sleeping pills in the summertime after explaining your condition to your doctor. Before summers over they could wean you off them so you dont have any withdrawal symptoms.
