Q: No urge to have bm

My daughter is 6 and has been staying with her father and step mother for a little bit now. I have recently found out that she has not been feeling the urge to have a bm until it is too late and then is having trouble holding it long enough to make it to the bathroom. Now they refuse to take her to the doctor but I am worried because of some other stuff that has happened in the past. Can you tell me what could cause something like this in a 6 yr old?

My son is 8 and has the same problem,He said he is uncomfortable, and to shy.
I have had tp potty train him all over again putting him on the toilet every 45 minutes.
He has since slowed down alot and it is working out!
