Women with absent menstrual period for few months, usually nine months, and a history of irregular menstrual bleeding, are often defined like women experiencing a secondary (there is an underlying condition) amenorrhoea (lack of menstrual bleeding).
In most of the cases of secondary amenorrhoea, the cause is hormonal imbalance due to Polycystic ovary syndrome, Androgen producing tumor, Thyroid dysfunction, Hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction (including obesity), Hyperprolactinemia, Hemochromatosis, Intrauterine adhesion, premature menopause, or a side effect of BC pills, or it appears after their discontinuation.
It is well known that weight reduction in obese women for only 10% of their body weight, can lead to menstrual period regulation.
Start with losing weight and see your gynecologist!
Best wishes!
