Q: No sex drive and dry vagina

hi, i have been on the microganon contraceptive pill for about 12 years. i have no sex drive an have a very dry vagina... i am very attracted to my partner i love him to bits but i wish i could feel more when we have sex. i never get sexually arroused. do you think my pill is doing this to me.

It is possible that it is your pill. Discuss this with your health care provider to see if you can not use another type of pill. Switching to a pill with a different hormonal composition did wonders for my own libido when my pill affected me in a similar way.

I agree with Susan. Switching pills could be your answer. Or, you could try a different form of hormonal birth control. NuvaRing, Implanon, and Mirena are all good options.

If you do not experience any changes, however, I would consider a non-hormonal form of birth control.
