I don't get regular periods and I never have, but I want to start birth control. I am getting some lite red/brownish discharge that kind of looks like the blood from when I do get my period. Is it ok to start my birth control now, or should I wait to get my next period(which might not be for a few months!!!)?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Discuss with your gynecologist before starting on the pills. You will need an examination to see if the current light red/brownish discharge that you are having is indeed your periods, or breakthrough bleeding.
If it is an indication of your oncoming periods, then you can safely start with the pills prescribed to you.
Take care.
