i am 34 and had a tubal ligation 6 years ago. my period usually starts between the 22nd and 25th day of my cycle. the only times i have ever been late was when i was pregnant. i am now almost 2 weeks late. i was wondering if i could be pregnant or going through premature menopause. my maternal grandmother started menopause at age 36. she also has hypothyroidism, i don't know if that is a factor or not. i have had my hormones and thyroid checked within the last 6 months, and everything in normal range.

after my tubal ligation, i didn't have the mucous discharge in the middle of my cycle when i ovulated anymore, but about 2 and a half years ago i started having it again. not every month, but every few months. the tubal i had was the one where a band was put around my tubes. i don't know if that makes any difference or not. i would appreciate anyones opinion. thank you.

Yes, it is possible to get pregnant with a tubal ligation...However, it is pretty unlikely....Like you say it could be premature menopause or just being nervous that you might be pregnant...Just relax and try not to stress as this seems to always make things worse...Good luck....

thanks for the support. i really wouldn't mind having another baby. maternal instinct kicking in as everyone around me under 35 are having babies... if it's gods will it will happen, so i'm not really stressed about it, just kind of hopeful.
