I havent had my period since October 1st and that lasted 3 days. My doctor gave me 12 progesterone pills and told me I should start within 5 days. They did not make my period start and that was in January. My question is, since I havent had my period for so long, am I even able to get pregnant right now and whats my next step to getting "back on track" so to speak? I need to know if I can get pregnant right now or not. Thank you!

You can get pregnant if your body decides it is going to ovulate. You may not know when you are ovulating so take the necessary precautions if you don't want to be pregnant.

I had a similar experience in which for no reason I stopped menstruating. I went to the doctor and had hormone injections. I got my period after 4 injections but for only one cycle. The doctor shrugged when I returned and said everything was normal. I suffer from migraine headaches which increased in frequency and severity at that time. I finally went to an acupuncturist for my headaches. A couple of sessions into the treatments I asked the doctor if my headaches were related to my amenorrhea. She treated me for the amenorrhea and my period started within days and the headaches were gone. She wrote this up in a paper she did for her phD. There are more studies that have been done on this and it seems that acupuncture is very effective treatment for regulating a woman's cycle.

Don't Give Up Hope
It might still be possible in your situation. My niece was 18 when she stopped having her period. She got married at age 20 and started hoping to have children at age 22. She went to her OB/GYN and told him her situation. He ordered hormone injections and in under two months, my niece was pregnant--with twins.

Good luck. Let us know if you find out anything!
