I have had the same problem for a few years now. I had my first Mirena IUD put in in 1997 and had it taken out in 2000. I had a baby in 2002, had another Mirena IUD put in, and had it removed in 2006. I, like you, did not have a period while the IUD was in, and I was told that was normal. However, since my IUD was removed in 2006, I've had less than 10 periods. Some were 4 days, some were 2 days, and none of them have been one month after the other. Earlier this year my new doctor gave me a pill, called Provera, so that I could have a period. That pill made me SO emotional, but I did have a 5 day period. She only had me take it that one time. I didn't have a period the next month, but I did the month after that, then two months later I had one, and now it's been 3 months and I haven't had another one. I have also gained close to 45 pounds since having my IUD removed in 2006. I know it's because my hormones are way out of whack. I want to be normal, too!! I sure hope there's something that can be done to help.
