Angelbaby, this is normal when you start. Your body is undergoing many changes and trying to find its natural cycles. You have wild hormonal swings (ask your mom, I am sure she can tell you how that affects your mood Smile ). Your cycles can be irregular for a few years until your hormones get in balance and your body adjusts to it.

When you use tampons, you should make sure that you flow enough to use tampons and change them as directed. For very light flow, spotting or at night you should use pads. This will prevent the tampons from drying out your vagina and possibly cause problems or you having the tampon in too long at night.

um Well try the platex sport they are small and easy glide. if the tampon is irritating you it needs to be deeper in. try again if you mess up. its ok to mess up the first 3 or 4 times but you will get the hang of it

You have to flow enough, else you will be putting the tampon into your 'dry' vagina. This is both uncomfortable/painful and unhealthy as it will dry out your vaginal walls. Normally you will not flow enough during early puberty. Removing a too dry tampon is also extremely uncomfortable and painful to remove!

Buy the smallest lightest tampon for example Teen, Lights, Mini or Slender. If you have a choice in those sizes, take a plastic applicator.

Your hymen might also prevent you from using tampons.

You have to make sure you put it in deep enough so that you do not feel it.

Read the tips in the tampon booklet to find a comfortable position.

Congratulations with getting your first period. You are growing up and becoming a woman!!
