Q: no period after first month

So I went on birth control again...probably about 2 or 3 years after the first time I was on them. But this time my doctor said I could start taking it whatever day I wanted. I ended up starting about a week after my last period ended. He told me to wait at least a week until having unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I waited a day over 2 weeks. I just ended my pack and I'm on my white pills but I still haven't had my period. Should I be concerned? I've been reading a lot of forums but a lot of them have been saying that sometimes you miss your first period on the pill. I have a history of irregular periods which is why I started taking the pill in the first place. Is it ok to wait it out another month?

Thanks for your help!
