Q: No pain with TMJ

I had TMJ for as long as I can remember (i am only 19 as of this month) however, i had never experienced any pain as experienced by many of the others diagnosed. I was wondering, if i don't get treatment right now, would it begin to start hurting some time in the future? I've gotten 2 splints in the past, and none of them really worked for me..

How are you sure you have TMJ then? If your jaw is misaligned than you probably just need braces.

Which symptoms do you have that classify you as having TMJ?

I am also 19 with the same problem, but my left face is bigger than my right face, I always wonder is that cause by TMJ or something else? I saw an orthodontic for a consultation, and was told that I need to see have a orthoganathic surgical evaluation????
