Q: no pain while sleeping

Hi! I've posted a few times and am so grateful for any feedback. All my symptoms point to tmj - see posts - but I have no pain when sleeping. About an hour after waking up and moving around, here they come -I also now tend to push my jaw around, massage, feel for the crepitus, etc. I feel there's a strong muscle component - from behin my ear lobe in that little hollow down the front of my neck.... things feel swollen, but I don't think there's any real swelling. Also -are there other reaons for midline deviation and crepitus besides tmj. Some days are good, others bad, and I have it on both sides -- anyway, thanks for listening and responding...

i dont have any pain lying down either. i think that you would benefit from neuromuscular dentistry--i think that you should get in asap.

thanks - I'm going to start with a chiropractor here in my town........ I can't help but think this has a lot to do with muscle, as there is no pain at rest, and of there was something organic, there would be pain all the time...thanks again...

I am also usually able to sleep without any pain - it does not wake me. Once I find a comfortable position, and rest for 30-60 minutes, I can usually fall asleep. Al thought it has been getting worse.
