I am 26 years old and had a d&c five weeks ago. I started taking ovulation tests two weeks and two days after my d&c I also took a pregnancy test at about 1.5 weeks after d&c, which was negative. I stopped bleeding from my D&C 2 weeks after. The day I started taking ovulation test my husband and I also started trying to conceive again. I have taken an ovulation test daily since I started and have still not gotten a positive reading. Three and a half weeks after the d&c I had bad cramping and very bad mood swings for about a week. The cramping began one night and the next morning I was bleeding, which was very light and lasted only a couple of hours. The cramping felt exactly like I was getting my period and the mood swings felt exactly like I had had in my last first trimester. I also had a white to clear mucus like discharge while I was cramping. I took a pregnancy test yesterday just out of curiosity and it came out negative. It is now five weeks after my d&c I have not ovulated I have not gotten my period and cramping has mostly gone away. I am very confused as to what is going on does anyone have any ideas???

did you talk to your doctor about how soon after can you conceive? you just had some form of surgery, you body may need time. im sure your body will get back into the swing of things.
ive taken ovulating tests for two months and nothing happened!
don't' forget to write down your cycle on your calendar every month, because it's easier to predict.

This sounds like what happened to me. Had D & C on 20/06/09, then 28 days later, cramping, bleeding for a couple of hours then clear mucus discharge for a couple of days afterwards.
I thought this was my period. Then 20 days later I got my heavy period which lasted 5 days. So thought all was back to normal with my cycle.
Started using Ovulation tests to see when we should bed again to ttc, and I'm now on day 20 with no real positive yet.
So if the first time I blead was my ovulation, I should be expecting to ovulate sometime in the next two weeks. But my cycles used to be 28 days exactly, now they are all over the place...
Hope all works out for you and me...
