A healthy diet is excellent, but if you are on a healthy diet you will not be overweight. A healthy diet includes a certain amount of fat which your body needs. If you are underweight, you are also much more prone to sicknesses as your immune system is decreased. There is a higher risk of things like osteoporosis, causing you to break more bones and get hurt much easier. You will be very cold all the time. You will be at a higher risk for anemia if you don't get enough iron. The list goes on and on of problems with being underweight.

What do you consider a healthy diet? Are you still getting enough protein, vitamins, fat, and carbs to keep your body running?

No.. this is backwards. You lose your period because your aren't getting enough nutrients. Once you get to a certain level your periods go away because your body is unable to give up nutrients for any possible reason other than to keep you going.

And there are other negative effects from being underweight..

For many, problems associated with being underweight almost shadow the effects of being overweight, so you'll have a higher risk or heart problem among other things. Other side effects include early onset of osteoporosis (bone defienciency ), decreased muscle strength, trouble regulating body temperature, and poor immune system-- not to mention an increase of possible anxiety and depression.

Trust me, it's nothing to mess around with-- if you've lost your periods then take it as the sign it is ---- your body needs more nourishment and more weight on your body!
