Inability to experience fully and pleasurably some or all of three stages during sexual activity, is known as sexual dysfunction in women.
When a woman experiences a little or no pleasure from a sexual activity, loss of desire is almost always a result (loss of desire can sometimes happen first).
This type of sexual dysfunction is known as sexual desire disorder.
It can appear as a side effect of certain drugs like antidepressants, birth control pills, as symptom of mental conditions as depression, anxiety, resulting due to diabetes, anemia, hormonal disorders like hyperprolactinaemia (the pituitary gland is overactive), sex hormones abnormality, thyroid gland disorders, history of abuse, or post-baby 'coolness', a loss of libido that often happens after childbirth.
A woman's inability to become lubricated, even after being sexually stimulated is another form of sexual dysfunction, known as sexual arousal disorder.
Causes are similar with the previously mentioned and plus other ones like a low level of estrogen or testosterone, vaginitis, cystitis, or from skin changes in vulva.
This disorder may develop when certain chronic disorders, such as diabetes and multiple sclerosis, damage nerves in genital area.
Also, a woman may enjoy sexual activity but can't reach orgasm, known as orgasmic disorder, usually linked with interpersonal and marital distress, psychological distress, psychiatric disorders, and use of antidepressants.
It is important to address all of sexuality's aspects, in order to resolve the problem.
Best wishes!
