catlover714,

Everyone reacts to surgery differently, but it is not uncommon to feel "wiped out" after any major surgery. Surgery is a lot of trauma to the body and shock to the system.

Yes, some people can go back to work in a few days after a lap choly (laproscopic cholysestectomy), but that usually depends upon what their job entails, their age, and their overall level of health and fitness.

Again, it is a big hit to the system to have surgery. Lack of energy is a very common complaint. It is usually recommended that you rest, but not too much. You do need to start doing some physical activity, to start to get your body back into shape. Walking is a great exercise.

However, if you do not start to feel a little better within a a week or so, contact your surgeon for advise.

Good luck.
