Q: Night Terrors???

The last few nights my boyfriend has been telling me that I've been acting really strangely in my sleep. The first time, I remember waking up punching at the air in front of me, before falling back asleep. The second time he said that I was apparently doing this all night, punching at the air, kicking, sometimes crying out. I don't remember any bad dreams, and I don't remember doing any of that. The third time, I had fallen asleep in my room and he came in to get me and he says I took a swing at him. Again, that I don't remember doing that. Him and I are having some relationship troubles that we're working through, but, I mean, nothing that would make me feel that angry. It's only happened these three nights, but that's three nights in a row when I don't ever remember doing that before in my life.
Anyone have any idea what this might be? Is it just a fluke, like we all do strange stuff in our sleep. Talking, walking, hell, I've sung in my sleep before, perhaps this is just a random? Is this something I should worry about? If you know what it is, or have an idea, what would you suggest doing?
Oh, I am starting my period in a few days, is it possible that it has something to do with me?

Hi!
Acting out vivid dreams as you sleep, usually, violent ones, can be due to a sleep disorder known as REM Sleep Behavior Disorder.
There are different actions that can be performed during this attack, like shouting, swearing, flailing, grabbing, punching, kicking, jumping, leaping.
RBD can be confused with sleepwalking and sleep terrors, so, it needs to be diagnosed by sleep specialist.

Are you going through some medicine or alcohol withdrawal?
Do you have other sleep problems?
Do you lack sleep?

No, nothing like that. No withdrawal, I'm getting good sleep, and there are no other sleep problems for me. So far, it hasn't happened since I posted that message, so maybe it was just a like three night thing?

yeah, that happened to my daughter. Her eyes were glazed while she jumped and kicked violently. The doctor told us it shd be temporary . The 3 periods of time it happened could be traced back to her bouts with pneumonia, rotavirus infection (severe diarrhea) and her phobia of the babysitter. When all causes removed (yes, we removed the babysitter), she stopped having those episodes
