Hi, I am an ER nurse and I work from 7pm to 7am. I have no problems staying awake during my shifts and falling asleep when I get home; however, I cannot stay asleep, I usually only sleep from 8a.m. to 11 a.m. I usually stop drinking caffeine around 12 a.m. and I go directly to bed when I get home. I have not tried any sleep aids such as benadryl because I'm afraid I will still wake up early and be drowsy all night. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
