next thing I know,I'm on the floor with a gash on head

So just curious, I goy ears pierced about 4mths ago and Ive had problem in one ear healing. I woke up tonight from the ear being sore with my earrings and realized the back was off. I found it and went to the bathroom to clean and put the earrings back in, it was sore and tender and more painful than normal. I couldn't find the back opening and gave up so I pulled the eating back out, and blood started coming out/: then a puss pocket or something of that sort and more blood, next thing I know is I'm on the floor against the wall with a gash I'm my forehead/: my body was feeling sweaty and cold and my face felt like I got punched. Can a ear poked the wrong way cause me to faint? (I'm assuming thats what happened)
