Hello everyone. I was just diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia about 3 weeks ago. I am feeling terrible. First off, can anyone tell me how serious my hypo is? Here are my GTT test numbers....
Fasting...84
1 hour....131
2 hour....70
3 hour....54
4 hour....69
5 hour....74
I haven't gotten alot of information from my doctor. I had to go again to him last this week because my numbers were still crazy. They go high...like today 195 then within an hour dropped to 67. My numbers go all over the place. Is there a way that I can get this more under control faster than just the diet? Also, any ideas what a normal sugar level should be? I was feeling ok at around 107 but that was after I crashed hard and all this came about. Now I feel best at 85. Anything higher than 90 I feel cotton headed and anything in the 70s gets me tired and spacey. I just wanted to know if there is an actual range that is normal.
When I go high, I want to just sleep. Like today, I couldn't hardly walk. When I get in the 60's I want to sleep. 50s am ready to pass out and I get very ornery and mean. Does this happen with anyone else? I am so confused and concerned. My doctor recommended an endocrinologist that I will hopefully be seeing next week. I am tired of this already. And to eat every couple hours....so hard for me. I never ate breakfast, snacked for lunch, and ate some kind of dinner. So eating every couple hours I feel like I am constantly eating and just weighed down.
Anyway, I'm sure I will have more questions, but am still not feeling real well after the up and down today. Thank you for any help you all can give me.
